The Health Services Authority is taking to the supermarkets this week to make sure everyone has the opportunity to know their numbers.
As part of the HSA’s world health day celebrations, volunteers will be in area supermarkets this Saturday, checking blood sugar, cholesterol, and blood pressure free of charge for anyone.
The HSA told Cayman 27 the tests are quick and easy, but in many cases can detect health issues before they become a major problem.
“We want persons to bear this in mind; that knowing your numbers, being aware what is happening, we can delay certain diseases,” said Joanna Rose-Wright, HSA Primary Health Care Services Nurse Manager
Free screenings will be available all week at all district health centres from 9AM to 1PM and Saturday (9 April) from 10AM to 2PM at Foster’s Strand and Republix locations, as well as at Hurley’s supermarket in Red Bay.
