North side MLA Ezzard Miller is laying out plans to stop the erosion at Kaibo beach.
Thursday (7 April) night was North side’s monthly committee meeting, where residents share their thoughts and opinions.
A major talking point was the erosion of the beach. “We only had a couple acres and if we lose an acre, we got an acre less, so we need to stop the erosion. We can’t use two of the huts because they are in the water, if you go to the Kaibo public side on Sunday almost every hut is occupied,” said North Side MLA Ezzard Miller.
Mr. Miller wants to plant mangrove in the Kaibo area to slow the rate of erosion but he acknowledges that would hamper the experience of those who visit the popular beach.
