PPM says it will stick to promise

The PPM administration says it will make good on its word to find a solution to the ever-growing problem that is the George Town landfill.

Councillor of Environmental Health Roy McTaggart says government plants to have a solution in place before elections are called in May of 2017.

He said, “To actually say that we would have shovels in the ground is still something at we are trying to accomplish, but I don’t know at this point. There are a number of things that we are trying to do to shorten the process, but I do have some confidence that we would be able to award a contract and get this started before the next elections.”

A draft is expected to be made available for public consultation in the coming months.
