Search for top cop begins

The search for a new top cop has begun, and the RCIPS is also looking for a number two.

Commissioner of Police David Baines said last month he would be leaving the service at the end of May.
His deputy, Steve Brougham, is also leaving in September.

On Friday (15 April) both job vacancies were advertised in the classifieds of the Compass.

The Commissioner’s position comes with a salary ranging from just under $110,000 a year to $130,000 and the deputy, between $91,000 $115,000.

Both adverts say applications need to be submitted by May 6.
