Sixth water death of 2016

2016 records the sixth death in Cayman’s waters and its another American tourist.

Police say were called to the beach close to Royal Palms yesterday (Thursday 7 April) morning after reports a swimmer got into difficulties in the water.

He was rushed to the Cayman Islands Hospital but pronounced dead at 11:30 a.m. He’s been identified as 78-year-old Chong Trinh from Texas.
