YMCA Food Revolution: Seed 2 Plate

The YMCA and other groups are teaming up with red bay primary school for the “seed 2 plate” program.

Maureen Cubbon, Wellness Coordinator and Laveda Thompson, Community Relations Coordinator both discuss the roots of eating healthy and making sure our kids know that food comes from gardens and farms before it gets to grocery stores and restaurants.

Maureen Cubbon goes on to say that the gold of the program is to teach kids about where foods comes from, teaching them about sustainability, agriculture and also to make helpful choices when it comes to food.

Miss Thompson tells us the kids will be doing gardening, putting dishes to together and being exposed to the fact that eating healthy can actually taste great.
