Acting Cayman Islands Football Association (CIFA) President Bruce Blake over the weekend insisted he does not plan to run in the election for CIFA President when the association holds its Extraordinary Congress on 28 May.
Blake, CIFA’s First Vice-President, took over the duties in an interim capacity after former President Jeff Webb pleaded guilty in the US to several counts of fraud related to the global football corruption probe.
He told Cayman 27 in March that he had no intention of running for the post when elections come. In an e-mail sent over the weekend to CIFA clubs, Blake reiterated he would not run. He will remain the CIFA First Vice-President.
The post of President and General Secretary will be filled this month’s meeting.
