Break-ins at Brac businesses

Thieves hit two Brac businesses this weekend and get away with a hand full of coins.

A small amount of cash was taken from Cayman Brac power and light, and a little over 11 dollars during a break-in at Tibbetts Enterprises.

“They went into the store, Tibbett’s enterprises, with the intent of finding a safe,” said Jonathan Tibbetts, who’s family owns the business.

“However, everyone that lives there and is known to my parents know they don’t keep any money there. They put it in the bank and they’d have to check the bank for it.”

It wasn’t just this store that was hit, thieves also broke into Cayman Brac Power and Light – where Mr. Tibbetts is the general manager

“The safe was left intact,” added Mr. Tibbetts.

“They were not able to reach the safe at all. They found a few dollars in some draws but nothing of any significance.”

Police say around $200 was taken from the power company. Mr. Tibbetts and his family have put up a reward package for information leading to arrests and convictions of those responsible.

Anyone with information should call Cayman Brac Police Station on 948-0331.
