Girls home to receive bus

Workers from Ritz Carlton are raising funds to help the Francis Bodden Girls home to buy a bus.

A team of five people from the Ritz have decided to work with the Francis Bodden Girls home as part of the Cayman Leadership Development Programme in an initiative which started over a month ago.

The workers are collecting donations from various shopping locations in Cayman such as Fosters and Cost-U-Less and the workers said they will be venturing to Camana Bay next week.

The bus will cost $20,000 and Ritz Carlton chef Kunal Sharma says the donations have been a little challenging as not everyone carries around tangible cash.

“A lot of people these days don’t carry cash so it’s actually difficult to get them to contribute because they don’t have cash on hand so we were actually joking about it earlier that I think we should partner with a bank to get like a credit card machine where they can just swipe,” Mr. Sharma said.

The donations given will be exchanged for a raffle ticket which will be entered into a draw to win prizes from Ritz Carlton.
