The family of Anthony Moore is urging drivers to slow down on the roads. Mr Moore was killed after being struck from his bicycle while out for a ride at 3:45 am on Saturday April 30. His sister Nicola Moore-Gothar says she too has been struck from her bike in the past, and most times drivers never stop.
She told Cayman 27, “It’s not just him, other people have been hit off bikes, or [while] walking. Drivers just get too close, I’ve been hit off my bike as well; just by wing mirrors hitting you, because they get so close it just smacks you in the back of the head and you go flying.” She added, “They need to take more care. People get impatient, bikes don’t go as fast as cars, but I know several people who got hit. It’s not always reported, but they got hit and the drivers don’t even know.”
Anyone with any information on Mr. Moore’s death is asked to contact the RCIPS at 949-4222.
