Prandini pulls off Cayman Invite sprint double

American standout Jenna Prandini pulled off the sprint double 14 May at the Cayman Invitational.

Prandini won the women’s 100-metres in 11.16 seconds, edging Jamaica’s Kerron Stewart (11.20) and 2011 world champion Carmelita Jeter, who was third in 11.34.

She then returned a couple of hours later for the 200 metres, and powered around the bend and into the home straight with a clear advantage. She reached in 22.63 seconds. Jamaica’s Audra Segree was second in 23.08.

“I wanted to come over to the Cayman Islands,” Prandini said after her 100-metres win. “I’ve heard great things about this track. I’ve loved it. I’ve been here for a week training and I’ve loved every second of it. This is a beautiful place.”
