Public registry concerns aired

Give them an inch and they’ll take a mile – that’s how some feel about government’s move to strike a common ground with the UK on a public registry.

The ink is barely dry on Cayman’s agreement with the Britain regarding the sharing of beneficial ownership information without creating a controversial central public registry, but in recent days the mother country has turned up the heat, pressuring government to commit to a new initiative that proposes to automate the sharing of beneficial ownership information.
