Tourism Department seeks 5-year strategic plan

The Tourism Department wants to ensure future guests to the island get the quality experience Cayman is known for.

The DOT is seeking consultants to help develop a strategic plan that can help tourism grow sustainably over the next five years.

With tourism figures expected to rise, key attractions like Seven Mile Beach and Stingray City will likely feel the pressure, and as we all know, the island isn’t getting any bigger.

The plan will take a look at size and scope of future development and its impact on visitor perception, new source markets to pursue, how to expand tourism beyond the traditional offerings, and how the industry can create more employment opportunities for Caymanians.

The deadline for proposals closed last week.
