A pair of Cayman Islands boxers plan to participate in the national qualifying event in the United States later this month, according to a Cayman Islands Boxing Association spokesperson.
Bruce Lee Coulson and Blayze Wood are scheduled to head to Columbus, Georgia for the Sugar Bert Boxing Title Belt National Qualifier.
The competition is meant for amateur boxers. Coulson in the past has competed as a professional, but CIBA says a recent rule change allows him to compete in the event.
NCB is helping sponsor one of the boxers attend the event, according to a press release from CIBA.
The boxers are waiting to hear from their employers if they can take the time off before confirming their participation in the event, according to CIBA.
