Forbes to serve as Cayman’s flag bearer at Rio 2016

Ronald Forbes will carry the Cayman Islands flag during the Rio 2016 Opening Ceremony with an estimated hundreds of millions of viewers watching around the globe.

The Cayman Islands Olympic Committee make the announcement Thursday (4 August) in a press release.

Forbes is attending his third Olympic Games. He has served as flag bearer in past Olympics, at the Beijing 2008 Games.

“Anytime that I’ve done the flag bearer honour, especially in 2008, which was my first,” Forbes said, “I felt very privileged  and very honoured to carry the Nation’s flag. Not only for what it represents but who it represents. That’s something I take with great responsibility and great pride.”
