The Girls Primary Football League kicked off over the weekend with its opening rally at the Annex.
Seven schools signed up for the rally on Saturday, Cayman Prep, St. Ignatius Prep, Triple C, Savannah Primary, George Town Primary and two teams from both Sir John A. Cumber and Prospect Primary.
Prospect Primary “team a” created their own piece of history, beating Saint Ignatius 1-0 in a penalty shootout victory to claim the inaugural title.
CUC PFL Coordinator Neil Murray, says “this tournaments opening rally is just a preview of the season so it gives the girls and boys, next week a chance to play before the season actually starts, so it gives them a little time on the field, for teams that are new, so they can get a little time together and play together, team work and everything like that, so it gives the,m a good preview for the season.”
Cayman Prep claimed third place after defeating John A. Cumber Primary “Team B” 1-0. The primary school boys take centre stage this Saturday, 9:00 am at the Annex Field.
