SJACS environment assessment near completion

Education minister Tara Rivers says an environmental health inspection should be complete on a West Bay school classroom after a parent complained mold and mildew is affecting her child.

Minister rivers says her team takes any allegation like this seriously and had inspections ordered at Sir John A. Cumber primary school.

“An initial was done a week ago on Thursday to determine the temperature and humidity. That test came back normal and did not show any signs of creating an environment for mold to grow. However, in the abundance of caution, whenever any allegation like this is made, it is escalated and a more detailed analysis is down. DEH was scheduled to do that  today and as a result we wait now to see if there is going to be any confirmation,” Minister Rivers said.
She made her comments last night on The Panel.
