Blue Jays move on, other divisional series continue

The Toronto Blue Jays are the first team to clinch a spot in Major League Baseball’s championship series, but they may soon have some company.

The Blue Jays beat the Texas Rangers in extra innings over the weekend to complete a series sweep over their rivals and now are four wins away from clinching a spot in the 2016 World Series.

The Cleveland Indians, however, lead the Boston Red Sox 2-0 in their American League Division Series and could join the Jays in the ALCS with a win Monday (10 October).

On the National League side, the Chicago Cubs lead the San Francisco Giants 2-0 in their NLDS series and also could get to the NLCS with a win Monday (10 October)

The Los Angeles Dodgers and Washington Nationals are tied 1-1 in their NLDS series.
