C.I.S volleyball team makes semi-finals at CAISSA

Cayman International School’s volleyball team made a bit of history last week, making it to the semifinal round of their first ever Caribbean Area International Schools Sports Association Event, placing 4th overall.

The girls traveled to Trinidad to compete in the five-day long tournament against hosts Trinidad and Tobago, Dominican Republic, Ecuador, Haiti, Panama and Venezuela. Trinidad the won the tournament.

Natalie Simpson, C.I.S volleyball M.V.P says “We went into this (CAISSA Event) as the underdogs, and we actually ended up doing pretty well compared to what our expectations actually were. Probably just not letting the ball drop, but we did get better throughout the tournament, but there were a lot of teams diving all over the place and if we did that then we would have been better.”

The C.I.S girls will begin their training for the next CAISSA Event in football, in Ecuador in January.
