Car crash claims GT man

A 28-year-old George Town man is this country’s latest road fatality.

Michael Eden, 28, of George Town was killed this morning (Sunday 2nd October) when his Silver Mazda Roadster motor vehicle crashed at the junction of Anthony Drive and Melrose Lane, Smith Road.

The RCIPS, in a statement issued this afternoon, said around 4:05 am 911 received a report that a vehicle had run off the road into the yard of a Smith Road residence.

Upon arrival, the police determined that the accident involved the Silver Mazda Roadster motor vehicle which had swerved off the road and collided into the chain link fence at the property.

The vehicle was driven by Mr. Eden, he was the sole occupant of the vehicle. He was taken to the Cayman Islands Hospital where he later succumbed to his  injuries. He was pronounced dead at 4:47 am.

Traffic Department is investigating the accident.
