Premier Alden McLaughlin announced it’s in talks to buy the land next to Smith’s Barcadere from developers.
In remarks from the LA chamber Thursday morning, Mr. McLaughlin said government is in talks with representatives of the developer to strike a deal that would stop a proposed condo project and preserve the much-loved landmark as we know it.
He also shined some light on his version of how the NRA agreement really went down.
“This government intends to continue to make every effort to acquire this property in an effort to keep Smith’s Barcadere, all of what we know as Smith’s Cove, available to Caymanians, residents, visitors, and future generations in perpetuity,” said Mr. McLaughlin.
