Historic opening partnership gives Pakistan fast start

Pakistan could not have gotten off to a better start on the first day of its first Test with West Indies.

Openers Sami Aslam and Azhar Ali put together a 215-run opening partnership and Pakistan ended day one at 279 for 1 through 90 overs.

It’s believed Aslam and Ali combined for the fourth-best opening partnership in Test history.

It also marked the use of pink ball, as the Test is being played as a day-night event.

Players on both sides complained they had a tough time seeing the ball.
