If your dinner plans tonight have been meatless, you get a vote of support from the people who put on a presentation this week facilitated by the National Trust, on veganism and the effects it claims the meat industry can have on the environment.
About three-dozen people attended the meeting with guest speaker, Dr. Rick lee, a specialist in Naturopathy. Vegan friendly food was served as well
There was a viewing of the documentary, “Cowspiracy.”
Topics included the meat industry’s need for land, food, energy and water and claims it causes high levels of green house gas emissions.
A vegan diet was promoted for both the environment and good health.
“There is too much scientific information out there to discount a vegan diet and life style and there is too much scientific information out there to discount the link between meat and disease, so hopefully no matter what their filter is they will be objective and just go do their homework,” said Dr. Rick L. Lee, A Naturopathic Doctor.
Dr. Lee extends his diet to replacing dairy, saying that grinding up almonds and mixing it with water gives more protein than cows milk.
