Junior gymnasts top personal bests at Junior Commonwealth Championships

The Cayman Islands junior gymnasts, Samantha Peene and Raegan Rutty placed 14th and 16th, respectively,  in the individual all-around competition at the Junior Commonwealth Championships in Namibia on Tuesday October 11.

Both girls posted personal best scores, improving their personal best set at the Junior Pan Am Championships in Bolivia just three weeks ago by over two full points.

Rutty bettered her own national record on vault with a 12.65. Peene set a new junior national record on floor, bars and in the all around. Peene then qualified for the finals on floor, finishing in 8th place on the apparatus final on October 12.

The next major challenge for Peene and Rutty will be the Island Games in Gotland in June.
