The Legislative Assembly got down to business today at its first official sitting with MLAs wading through some ten pieces of legislation. Financial Services Minister Hon. Wayne Panton had the floor for most of the afternoon session as he tabled eight bills. But it was the latest reboot of the Non Profit Organisations bill took centre stage, generating the most debate. Now this bill sees the regulation of local charities and is aimed at preventing fraud. Cayman 27’s Reshma Ragoonath joins me now to discuss this first of many work sessions ahead of us in the capital.
