Pirates week music variety fighting segregation

Pirate’s Week Director Melanie McField said with different areas on the Waterfront historically playing different musical genres, the purpose is to aid integration amongst residents and visitors and not to create division.

“What may appear as a separation is in actual fact provides a unique opportunity for attendees to actually socialize more. Think about it step a little to the East or to the West there’s options you have your Latin your Reggae, your Calypso then if you go closer to the Hard Rock side of the Harbour Drive you have your alternative, Ms. McField said.
