US$5 million dollars.
That’s the amount Government is paying Dart to expand the Esterley Tibbetts Highway between the Butterfield roundabout and a future new roundabout at Camana Bay.
Planning Minister Hon Kurt Tibbetts said that cost is lower than originally projected by the National Road Authority.
Minister Tibbetts spoke in the LA on Wednesday about the road works, part of a larger $40-million project which will see the expansion of Camana Bay.
East End MLA Arden McLean asked why the NRA did not take control of the entire road project, but the minister said the Linford Pierson expansion is keeping the NRA busy.
“The NRA, based on planning for the Easterly Tibbetts Highway simply does not have the capacity to work on both roads at the same time,” Mr Tibbetts said.
