Windies blow past openers, but Pakistan rallies late

West Indies dismissed Pakistan’s openers for six runs but a late stand helped Pakistan extend its lead on the first day of the second Test between the teams.

Pakistan won the toss and elected to bat, and dismissed almost immediately the two players who did so much damage to the Caribbean side in the first test. Azhar Ali was bowled for a duck coming off his record-breaking performance in the first Test. Sami Aslam was caught out for six runs.

Younis Khan, however, reached 127 before he was caught out and Pakistan pushed its total to 304 for 4 at stumps on day one.
