Accused robbery ringleader finishes trial

Closing arguments concluded Wednesday (2 November) in the trial of a woman accused of helping coordinate an armed robbery.

Christine Rae Smith is facing charges in connection with the July 2015 hold-up at Elegant Nails on Godfrey Nixon Way. Several women were robbed of cash and valuables by two gunmen. Ms. Rae Smith was among the customers inside, but Crown Counsel accuses her of helping her boyfriend, Paul Myles, who has already admitted being one of the robbers. Ms. Rae Smith denies the charges and says evidence linking her to Mr. Myles is coincidental.

Justice Charles Quin said he will try to issue a verdict on 7 December.
