USA Soccer has brought back former Head Coach Bruce Arena after firing Jurgen Klinsmann earlier last week. Arena had previously coached the men’s national team from 1998 to 2006. Arena’s coaching record with the USA men’s squad was 71 wins, 30 losses, and 29 draws. The coaching change comes after the American team lost to both Costa Rica and Mexico in the final qualifying round of the 2018 CONCACAF World Cup qualifying final round, leaving the United States 4 points off the pace and last place in their group with 8 games to go for a direct qualifying birth.
