Heritage Day celebrations heat up

Today is George Town Heritage Day celebrations and the foodies came out to enjoy the dishes.

George Town MLA Roy McTaggart said he remembers the “good ole days” when you could get a lot of the snacks on display and says he looks  forward to the celebrations each year.

Last night (Nov 14) Bodden Town’s Heritage Day lasted until 10 p.m  with hopes of more people coming out and Miss Cayman Islands Monyque Brooks said elders must play their part to enforce culture.

Political hopeful Kenneth Bryan said the importance of space for Heritage day can’t be understated.

“Wish that we had more of a facility for the George Towners particularly the George Town committee who fights every year and try to present and preserve our culture,” Mr. Bryan said.

East End’s Heritage Day will commence tomorrow.
