Some sport representatives are concerned about the decreasing numbers in students after they leave the Primary Football League.
We spoke to Cayman International Schools Athletic Director Colin Crumpton on last night’s Lets Talk Sports to discuss a potential new football league to keep student-athletes in the game.
“The idea is we put together an 11 side, an under 13 that brings in the government schools and the private schools. When I came into CIS, we were seeing a gap, a very well-developed under 11 football league both boys and girls, when we get to U-18 we are seeing some drop offs. So the idea is to give kids a chance to play and using that same model that the PFL, the Primary Football League Football is using and getting more kids playing.”
Mr. Crumpton says if this new football league does get the approvals, it is a possibility to introduce it to other sports around the island.
