A midday shooting in George Town claims the life of one man.
Just before noon Monday (28 November) George Town resident Damean Dwayne Seymour (34 years old), known as “Deebo” was gunned down near the intersection of Martin Drive and Tigris Street, according to police.
Details of the shooting are few and police are not yet confirming whether they believe the violence is gang-related.
Andy Myles — a neighbour of Mr. Seymour — says he believes the victim was targeted in a gangland feud.
“I knew Damian when he was small,” Mr. Myles said. “He used to play a lot of football and stuff. He participated in everything like most normal kids. But somewhere down the line, I don’t know what went wrong. Because we’re having problems in the neighborhood, he went away. He came back and — I don’t know — it seems like somebody had it out for him, was probably watching him or something.”
“There’s some gangster thing going on from, this would go back like 10 years, 15 years ago. But this is not the first time. Two kids got killed in the back there and this nonsense continues going on and on and on. I’m hoping one day it can stop.”
