Students for Conservation

Five high school students from across Cayman joined ocean activist Guy Harvey to help film his newest documentary, which proved to be a life-changing experience.

This was day two of screenings for Dr. Guy Harvey’s previous documentary about oceanic white tips.
Year-13 Cayman prep students Myles Dawson James and Kai Gunning helped with the filming for Dr. Harvey’s next film “This is your ocean sharks two”. They say they speak to their peers about ocean conservation every day.

“You really get to see them in the flesh and up close to see how much of a real animal they are, because watching on a DVD like this or on a movie, they almost seem superficial to you, but when you’re actually in the water with them then you can like touch them and see them they feel a lot more real.” Said Year 13 student, Myles Dawson James

“I’ve always thought about being a marine biologist maybe when I was older so having the opportunity to come on something like this has been really something for me, it’s been pretty changing,” said Student, Kai Gunning.

The screening of Dr. Guy Harvey’s new film, about tiger sharks,  will take place tomorrow night at 5:30 at regal cinemas in Camana Bay.
