A man has been arrested in connection with a water related death of 14 year-old Risco Batten who died on a supervised day trip with the Bonaventure Boys Home. Police late today revealed that on Tuesday 29 November, the one year anniversary of the boy’s death, they had arrested a 63-year-old George Town man on suspicion of manslaughter and cruelty to a child. Tuesday was also the day police had issued fresh appeals for any information in the boy’s death.
Risco Batten died after he was pulled from the water near South Sound cemetery beach. The man is now on police bail.
