Gov’t extends building materials duty concessions

Government is extending its duty concession on building materials through 2017 in Grand Cayman and through 2020 in the Sister Islands.

The Ministry of Finance and Economic Development made the announcement Friday (16 December), saying the 15 percent flat duty rate is meant to continue economic growth in the construction sector.
The concessions also include a 100 percent stamp duty waiver on Cayman Brac land purchases and an import duty rate of 12.5 cents per gallon on gasoline imports to the Brac.
