Humane Society opens new thrift shop

The Humane Society has opened a new thrift shop location in Plaza Venetia.

Doors opened this week where shoppers can find clothes, toys and all things thrifty. Store clerk Kadian Moxam  said the location provides more space which has helped sales.

“I must admit business is great for the past 1,2,3 days, day number three and we’re doing very good better than before because customers have more space, more items on display and they’re all loving it,” Ms. Moxam said.

Manager at the store Miss Jacki Ebanks said at this stage the store could use more volunteers to assist with managing and organising items in the more spacious building.

” One thing that would really help us is to get more volunteers on here to help in the shop it is quite a bit of work we have a lot of customers that come in on a daily basis so it’s just tidying up the shop and helping us reorganise,” Mrs. Ebanks said.

Ms. Ebanks said money raised at the thrift shop goes towards pets at the Humane Society shelter to provide food and take care of medical expenses for animals housed at the shelter.
