Premier concerned about young voters

Premier Alden McLaughlin said he is worried about the low numbers of young people who come out to vote and whose registered to do so.

“One of my greatest disappointments though is that still there are a significant numbers of young people who have never voted before and who still are not registered,” Primer McLaughlin said.

The Primer made the comments at the 14th annual Christmas Luncheon hosted by the People’s Progressive Movement (PPM)
and figures from the Economics and Statistics Office may reinforce the Primer’s cause for concern with numbers showing less than 100 Caymanians 19 years old and younger registered to vote through 2015.

Cayman 27’s Mario Grey has this report.
