Premier Hon. Alden McLaughlin keeps the Ritch Immigration report out of the Information Commissioner’s hands, for now.
The Premier’s Office on Monday (5 December) responded to Information Commissioner Jan Liebaers’s order to produce the report by issuing a ministerial certificate declaring the report an exempt record.
Acting Deputy Information Commissioner Cory Martinson confirmed a response was received.
“The Office of the Premier has not provided the ICO with the report by Ritch and Conolly reviewing the permanent residence points system. The Premier has issued a Ministerial Certificate under section 25(1)(b) of the Freedom of Information Law,” he says.
The report proposes to addresses the current Permanent Residency backlog.
