St. Ignatius celebrated a new addition this past Sunday as it welcomed the Divine Mercy Adoration Chapel. Hundreds of St. Ignatius parishioners gathered out front to celebrate the newly constructed sanctuary. The chapel was made possible by many generous donations and long months of fundraising which started this past January.
Those involved were memorialized inside the chapels wall for their contributions. The church was joined by archbishop of Kingston, Rev. Kenneth Richards who provided an official blessing in a dedication ceremony, sprinkling the grounds with holy water and burning incense. The chapel is open everyday until midnight, with volunteers and parishioners serving as hourly supervisors.
