Voters now have extra time to get on the voters list for the 2017 elections.
This afternoon the Elections Office announced that voter registration will be extended until midnight Sunday 16 January 2017. The original deadline was set for December 31. Today the Governor signed off on the 2017 general elections programme confirming Elections day will fall on Wednesday, 24 May 2017.
Elections supervisor Wesley Howell, in the media statement announcing the extension, urged those yet to register to wait until the last-minute. Remember, if you have not registered, you cannot vote. We have a number of avenues open for persons to register,” Mr Howell says.
