Police arrest 11 more people for driving under the influence of alcohol, including one without a valid licence who tried to evade officers.
Police since the start of the year have put emphasis on curbing traffic offences and have warned of officers cracking down on the scourge of drunken driving.
The arrests happened between 7-13 May.
Eight of the DUI arrests happened over the weekend.
In one incident from Thursday night (10 May) police pulled over a vehicle but the driver sped off as they approached. He was later intercepted and didn’t have a license. A breathalyzer test showed his blood alcohol level at nearly twice the legal limit.
During that week, officers also issued 66 speeding tickets, 36 tickets for illegal tint and another 36 for use of a mobile phone.
