Athletics: Mustang Track Club cleans up at 2018 BayTaf Classic winning 21 medals

Cayman’s Mustang Track Club overcame deplorable conditions to win 21 medals at the 27th BayTaf Classic held at Jefferson High School in Tampa, Florida 26-27 May.

Overall, MTC won seven gold, seven silver and seven bronze medals over the two-day meet.

13-year-old Jaden Reid dazzled with four age-group medals in total with a silver in the boys 100-metres, bronze in the boys 200-metres, bronze in the high jump and gold in the 4×100 relay. For girls, 13-year old Rochelle Moore won two medals including gold in the high jump and silver in the long jump.

Cayman was also represented by 345 Athletics Club who took home nine medals overall.

Top performers include 15-year-old CARIFTA standout Ava Hider who won gold in the girls 3000 metres and silver in the 1500 metres. Newcomer Cullain Lynch saw the podium twice with gold in both the boys 3000 metres and 1500 metres.
