Athletics: Two-time Olympic gold medalist Fraser-Pryce added to Invitational

Known by some as the ‘greatest female sprinter ever’ Jamaica’s Shelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce of will join the lineup for Saturday’s (2 June) Cayman Invitational, held at the Truman Bodden Sports Complex.

Fraser-Pryce, 31, is a two-time 100-meter Olympic gold medalist, and a 4-time IAAF individual World Champion. After taking the year off due to pregnancy, the sprinting legend returned to the track at this month’s Jamaica Athletics Administration Association (JAAA) All-Comers Meet placing first in heat one of the women’s 100-meters with a time of 11.52 seconds.

Fraser-Pryce joins fellow Jamaican’s Asafa Powell, Nesta Carter, Ristananna Tracey, Rasheed Dwyer and schoolboy Christopher Taylor along American LaShawn Merritt and 70-plus other international athletes as well as 20 local participants in the event slated for a 6:00pm start.
