Basketball: O’Garro’s 31 helps Blazers win game one of CIBA Men’s Division One finals

Sammy O’Garro scored 31 points along with 6 steals, 3 assists, and 1 block to lead the Sol Blazers in a 78-65 win over the Burger King Blazers Tuesday (15 May) in game one of the Cayman Islands Basketball Association (CIBA) Division One men’s finals. Brother Shad O’Garro pitched in with 16 points, 4 rebounds, 4 assists and 1 steal.
Blazers Joshua Dikua had a double-double with 11 points, 13 rebounds while adding 4 assists and 4 steals. Kevin Maxwell also posted a double-double for the Blazers with 10 points and 11 rebounds. In the loss, Deandre Simpson lead the Warriors with 19 points, 12 rebounds 3 steals and 2 blocks.
Game two goes Tuesday 22nd May at the Arts and Recreation Centre in Camana Bay.
In Division Two men’s finals, Fix It Celltronics defeated Charterland 63-51. Fix It’s Daniel Mowatt lead the way with 21 points, 6 rebounds, 2 blocks and 1 steal. In the loss, Charterland’s Curtis Wilson scored 26 points while adding 22 rebounds and 2 steals.
