Calls for public to rally around Gov’t

The Opposition is calling on all sectors of society to rally behind the Government on the issue of public beneficial ownership registries.
In a statement today (24 may) the Opposition is proposing the creation of a joint government-private sector strategic planning group comprising of the best minds in Cayman to lead the charge in this battle.
We reached out to the Premier’s Office for a response to the proposal. We are yet to hear back.
Meanwhile, House Speaker and Cayman Democratic Party leader Hon. McKeeva Bush has thrown his support behind the Premier’s position to challenge the UK on this issue and seek constitutional changes.
In a statement today (24 May) he said, “This is not only an appropriate means to seek to revise our constitution but it is also productive for the protection of our future.”
