The continuing inclement conditions force the postponement of Cayman’s emergency responders upcoming fundraiser for the Cayman Islands Special Olympics.
The event was planned for this Saturday (26 May,) but it’s now been moved to 2 June.
The agencies will be holding a fire truck pull contest this year and they’re naming after former Fire Chief Kirkland Nixon who recently passed away. Leading up to the main event you’ll see firefighters and other emergency responders around the courthouse collecting money to go towards Special Olympics Cayman Islands.
” It is all about making sure that the special Olympians get the financial support that they need so that when they have private coaches. They can get the kind of assistance and make us all proud in the Cayman Islands,” said Mr. Bodden.
The event will be held at the Black Pearl skatepark. Immigration won last year, but Mr. Bodden said Customs will take the gold this time around.
