A 57-year-old US visitor dies while snorkeling in East End. It’s the third such death for this month and the eighth water-related death for 2018.
According to an RCIPS statement, this latest incident happened Saturday (19 May) evening in East End.
Emergency personnel responded to a report of a person in distress. He was snorkeling when he encountered difficulties and was assisted to shore by members of the public nearby.
The man was transported to the Cayman Islands hospital where he subsequently lost consciousness and was later pronounced dead.
