The driver involved in Monday’s (28 May) collision that claimed the life of 68-year-old Carlton William Farrell has been arrested. Mr. Farrell was struck by a vehicle on Shamrock Road, Monday morning, Wednesday night (30 May) he passed away at the Cayman Islands hospital.
During Monday morning’s rainy weather 68-year-old Mr. Farrell was struck by a car in the vicinity of Trumbach Lane, near his home.
Since then the Bodden Town man was listed in critical condition Cayman Islands hospital. H succumbed to his injuries on Wednesday afternoon. He is the sixth road fatality in Cayman for 2018.
The 42-year-old driver involved in the collision was arrested on suspicion of causing death by careless driving. He is currently on bail as the investigation continues.
As news of Mr. Farrell’s passing broke, friends and family members turned to social media to express their sorrow and offer condolences.
“My fondest friend of all times, we worked at S0uthern Airways when they flew here, and we had a beautiful staff that worked together. Rest In Peace my Buddy!” posted Audrey Bodden.
Mr. Farrell was described by his family as kind and thoughtful, who loved his family. He was a first cousin of National Hero James Bodden and Senior MLA Anthony Eden.
