A third man arrested in connection with cocaine that washed ashore on Christmas Eve makes his initial court appearance on Thursday (24 May.)
Al McLaughlin appeared in Summary Court before Magistrate Philippa McFarlane where he was denied bail.
Mr. McLaughlin is charged with conspiracy to commit robbery and conspiracy to supply cocaine. In denying bail, the Magistrate cited past issues on Mr. McLaughlin’s record. She said she believes Mr. McLaughlin would not stay out of trouble if released.
In the Crown’s summary of the charges, they said small scales with traces of cocaine were found in Mr. McLaughlin’s residence. M.r McLaughlin returns to court on 6 June.
